Today we have had a wonderful experience for the children with a performance of  ‘The Mountain Witch’ by Speedwell Dance. This was an enchanting, magical story with live music.

The Mountain Witch is an adventurous folk tale of an ancient and powerful witch. It is a playful, immersive, and inclusive DANCE, MUSIC and STORY performance which transformed  our school hall into another world, where seasons have gone awry, and the determination of children is needed to help to put things right. Some children were invited onto the set to playfully connect with the journey to find the Mountain Witch by awakening scampering creatures and tiptoeing past the Mountain Witch’s cave, to finally convince her to let the sun return. The production included original songs and music played by live musicians on clarinet, flute and cello. Speedwell Dance create immersive worlds in which skilled artists and audiences of all ages interact through dance and music to bring stories to life.

This was an amazing experience for all our children.
