F2 have had the amazing opportunity to work with local artist Angie Hardwick to create some wonderful Autumn decoupage lantern jars that can be hung outside at home or in our Forest school area. Linked to our topic.
The children worked in small groups of 10 to create a beautiful handle first of all using beads and buttons. Angie spoke to the children each step of the way and discussed what they were doing , encouraging the children to have a go and think about what Autumn is.
After completing their handles, the children each collected their materials, a jar, and a candle light. Again, Angie showed them how to apply sticker inserts of skeleton leaves inside their jars and then apply glue accordingly to apply tissue paper around the outside of the jars.
The children were so engaged and loved the workshop that we couldn’t wait to share the outcomes once they were ready.
