This week, as part of our maths learning, we used active maths to recap matching numerals to quantity. Each child was given a sticker showing either a numeral or dots representing numbers 1 to 6. They then had to move around and find the child with the matching number representation.

Before starting, we discussed what a “match” means and explored the idea that it means the same amount, even if it looks different. The children had lots of fun searching for their partner and comparing their stickers carefully.

This activity supported number recognition, counting skills, and an understanding of matching numerals to quantity in an engaging and active way. Everyone participated enthusiastically and did an excellent job finding their match.
